I let S-- try taking some pictures today. His subject was A-- and me, so I will only post the best, otherwise I would worry about how I look, and I don't need to worry about that.

All for One and One for All

So I finally got around to taking some more pictures of the boys together. We had just finished last minute hair cuts (notice the locks are missing from F--this is his first real haircut), and I posed the boys on the couch for a quick shot. S-- did a great job holding his baby brother, who weighs over 17 pounds. (I've never had a baby that big.)

Into the fire . . .

By way of explanation as to why there have been so few posts in May, I thought I would explain that we had a ward boundary changes at the beginning of the month. One-third of our ward switched with half of the other ward and they renamed both wards. All callings were pretty much stopped, though you were asked to keep serving in the auxiliary until you were called to something else or not needed. I had been serving as the 1st counselor in the Young Women's. The Friday before the change, I got a phone call from the Bishop. He asked to meet with us, and when he did, asked me to serve as Primary president (and could I have a list of counselors and a secretary within 24 hours).

Needless to say, for the past month, I have been swamped. Our Primary grew by half. We've had to find subs for many classes every week, as well as arrange additional classrooms. I'm the only one of my presidency who has served in a Primary presidency before. We had a Primary Activity planned for the 19th and stake auxiliary training the week before. I needed to learn about cub scouts and figure out who we were going to call to what. I think that we're getting things under control (if only they would call some people to Primary tomorrow)

B-O-B-C-A-T

One morning not too long ago, over breakfast, S--started spelling a word he saw on a box, "B-O-B-C-A-T." He tried sounding it out a little (we've been doing that with some words to try and help encourage interest in reading), and then said, "Bobcat. Mama, what is a bobcat?" He hasn't been as fast or accurate with the other words that he has tried, but I hope that this continues.
